It’s Bobby Wagner (Sea) all the way in this one. Him & RB Eddie Lacy (GB) will meet all night long.
Strong Consideration Linebacker:
Brad Jones (GB) will see a lot of RB Marshawn Lynch (Sea). He’s a strong LB3 in deeper leagues that start 3 or more LBs, but should stay on your bench in shallow leagues.
IN BIG-PLAY LEAGUES ONLY: Clay Matthews (GB) is always worth consideration as a “sack magnet”. Plus he’ll rack up some decent tackles.
Sits at Linebacker:
AJ Hawk (GB)
KJ Wright (Sea)
Malcolm Smith (Sea) But he’s a strong watch on my list in the IDP world and I have a feeling you’ll see him on my Waiver Wire list to pick up in the near future.
Starting Defensive Line:
Strong Consideration Defensive Line:
DE Michael Bennett (Sea) might get to QB Aaron Rodgers (GB), but it we need to watch and see what the Green Bay line looks like this year.
DE Cliff Avril (Sea) is both fun and difficult to own. But to be honest, I just described most Defensive Ends outside of the top 5.
DT Mike Daniels (GB) is someone to look at if you’re required to start a DT on your team. For those of you new to IDP, that’s a defensive tackle. Defensive tackles are rarely as valuable as DE’s or Defensive Ends so if you’re IDP requirement is simply DL (Defensive Linemen), you’d want to start a DE & not a DT.
Sits at Defensive Linemen:
LB Julius Peppers (GB) note that he’s a LB & not a defensive end anymore. I’ve seen people draft him thinking he was still a DE. He’s not.
Starting Defensive Backs:
S Morgan Burnett (GB)
S Earl Thomas (Sea)
Strong Consideration Defensive Back:
S Kam Chancellor (Sea)
CB Richard Sherman (Sea) is a strong consideration if you are in CB required leagues, but if it’s just a DB required league, he’s not a starter.
CB Byron Maxwell (Sea) is a strong consideration if you are in CB required leagues simply because he will be picked on like crazy and have a lot of opportunities.
Sits at Defensive Back:
CB Tramon Williams (GB)
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (GB)

About the Author: Seems weird to think I started this wacky game in 2004. I love it, as I know all of you do too. My experience as an IDP guy starts as a waiver wire specialist. Anyone can tell you to start a Top 5 stud, but it's finding 1 or two "gems" off the waiver wire each year that makes the difference between winning your league and being in the middle of the pack. For instance, a long time ago before anyone new an SLB named James Anderson, I saw a perfect storm coming when they were about to play the Saints. I looked closely at the strategy and just knew the Saints were going to run at the strong side linebacker all day. I went all in on this unknown IDP Anderson and he rewarded us with a 13 solo tackle game from a relatively UNKNOWN waiver wire guy. He went on to be the top LB in every game from that day on throughout the season. I've managed to find that gem at one of the IDP positions every year before any other forecaster. I'm not sure how I have this knack. Maybe it's because I've played football since I was six and played both QB (reading defenses) and LB, reading offenses. It helps that my dad was a great coach for 36 years too. Most importantly, I love it and it's fun!
